Supervisor, Finance
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor, Finance to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and a proven ability to manage and develop a team of finance professionals. This role reports to the Finance Manager and plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting staff. This includes assigning tasks, providing regular feedback, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- General Ledger Management: Ensure the integrity of the general ledger, including reviewing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing variances.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable Oversight: Supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development and maintenance of the annual budget and forecasting process. Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Internal Controls: Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Audit Support: Assist with external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and increase efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience with [Specific Industry] accounting.
